Imagine seeing your family suffering from diabetes - your grandmother, your husband, your children and your grandchildren. The desire for a mother's heart is naturally for their family to be healthy - but what if you don't know how? What if you don't have the basic kitchen tools to make it happen?
This is the story of the Lakota Indians in South Dakota. Diabetes, cancer and suicide plaques their town. No family is unaffected.
Belleview Baptist in Memphis has requested Annette Reeder join them in their annual mission trip to this village. Every year they share the Gospel, they teach health, they reach out to the men to be leaders in their homes, and they reach out to the women to be good mothers.
This year - there is a new addition - Annette Reeder will be leading cooking classes!
Yes - this year the Lakota women will learn hands-on cooking skills that will help them see physical healing in their body. They will get to experience God's love and learn about His design for them in their body.
We need your help - these homes lack basic tools to prepare economical healthy meals. A frying pan, a pot and a few utensils is all they own. To cook healthy they need more. They need healthy cookbooks, they need better equipment, they need your help.
This is where we need your help. Please donate monies for us to buy supplies or donate items that are new or in great working condition. Donation locations are in Richmond, Virginia and Hillsboro, Missouri. Contact our office for details.
Items to be purchased: Crock Pots, Cooking Utensils, small mills, cookbooks, and Grace Aprons.
